About the Author
Stephanie A. Heck, Ph.D.
About me…
I am a licensed psychologist in Philadelphia. I have been a devoted student of psychology for over 30 years, and I remain fascinated by societal and cultural influences on individual differences.
A little bio…
I graduated from Vassar College in 1995 with departmental honors in Psychology.
From there, I worked in the Psychiatry department at Yale University for two years, doing substance abuse treatment research.
I went back to school in 1997 for a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Penn State University. I feel really lucky to have been trained there; it’s a terrific program. I graduated in 2003.
After completing an internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Pennsylvania Hospital in 2004, I became licensed for independent practice. I also had two children.
I currently have my own practice and seek ongoing training and supervision from renowned psychologist and psychoanalyst, Dr. Nancy McWilliams.
